This week I have a beautiful set of new campers at Art Camp. They are 8 and 9 years old.
At Art Camp I serve very basic mom food. I don’t believe in running a diner and I think if it is basic and yummy it should do the trick.
Two nights ago I served homemade Mac and Cheese. In some very remote corners of the world I am famous for this. For this group, the mildest of cheeses was used and with the lightest of hand.
Still there were a few who said “I would rather not” (rule #1- don’t say “I hate” especially if you have not tried it)
“Chickies, this is dinner, you can’t be serious that you don’t like noodles.”
“I like noodles but naked. Nothing on it”
“Sweetheart, it’s not like I am serving you Osso Bucco, Cow’s Tongue or Brain of Monkey. The noodles just ran by the cheese. They are topless for sure. Be brave”
Are you sure you didn’t try and serve them frozen Broc and try and convince them it was candy?
