Me to daughter and daughter’s friend home from University-

“Anyone interesting at school these days? Anyone you like on your floor in residence?”

“What? No Way. That is verboten. No one believes in floorcest.”

“Floorcest? You mean like incest only not your family, your floor in residence?”

“Yeah. Strictly forbidden.”

“You mean like everyone is like family on the floor and that would interfere with the way the family functions?”

“Don’t read too much into it mom.”

I love having both my teenagers and all their friends around me as I learn so much from them- even if some of their ideas feel a little wacky.  But last week I found myself particularly wound up over a book I was reading and reference to aspects to the culture we all live in and the one our teens are  deeply immersed in.
