Corner Pocket

I have always wanted to be good at pool. I like the sound it makes. It looks cool when you clean up. Especially if you are a girl who looks like a girl, not Minnesota Fats. So unexpected.

I have played a few times extremely poorly but last night I was wickedly good for no apparent reason.

I have put together a few dating pool tips that might also be applied to other difficult brain-centric  sports and hobbies.

-forget to eat lunch.

-be a little tired and a little wired.

-drink a glass of something fairly quickly.

-put your body into it

– forget your head

-ignore what they say about angles and math and strategy and just go.

I  sunk 5 consecutive balls. The pretty striped ones. The ones I was supposed to.

And then the 8 ball.

The crowds cheered. Sort of.

My opponent unfortunately bet the farm.

I am going to name my pretty new farm corner pocket.

I can’t explain the win except to say I totally didn’t focus on it.

I might be on to something.

Try it and let me know how you do.

(Afterwards all I wanted to do was tell my brothers and my dad)
