not your average shower

Speaking of insane love of simple pleasures, I took a shower recently.

While that sounds plain and simple, even a hygienic imperative, let me get my palette.

It was a day and you felt it too, that was perfect. A reward after a fabulous never ending (some might say, and it wont be me, relentless and brutal) winter with snow that buried alive any thoughts of green or new.

The air was fresh and warm, even promisingly hot in the early afternoon.

After swimming in the pond a few times to cool off, I felt a bit of a chill.

I went to the shower and took a long warm one.

The difference is that the shower is outdoors.

With no door on it in front, only beautiful bales of hay stood watching me without judgement or hint of scandal.

Above no ceiling. Just a canopy from the lilac tree.

The smell was the purplest of smells, so sweet it could break your heart.

The wind was warm, the light was that end of the warm day light that makes everything dream like.

I was there in my flip flops and my nothing buts.

It was sublime.

  1. On my honeymoon in St.Lucia we experienced the sublime (!) of an outdoor shower. That was a lifetime ago. You brought it back to me in a flash. Lovely!
