my dad’s wheelbarrow

I love wheelbarrows.

I can’t explain why but I find them so useful and simple. And when they are yellow, I think they are so beautiful.

(Don’t lock me up even though that may sound crazy to you)

I have even been known to fight over being the one who gets to use it.

This is our cottage wheelbarrow.

A few weeks ago I was stacking wood with it.

And I looked at the wheel and saw my dad’s name on it.

It gave me the shivers.

Dad, why on earth did you put your name on the wheel of the wheelbarrow?

It may seem like a silly thing but it really bugs me that no one knows the answer. And he is not here to ask.

  1. Maybe the wheel went flat ( like ours did) and he took it in to be fixed.
Fraser shorter to write than MacDonald!

  2. Sue-I think you might be right- although it looks exactly like his writing and I don’t think he ever went in a hardware store!

  3. I say he probably lent the wheelbarrow to a neighbour and wanted to make sure he got it back. My own father lent his and it never got returned he probably wishes he had of put his name on it.
