beginner mindset and the creative process

I like when two opposing thoughts are both correct.

Sometimes beginner mindset holds you back and sometimes it is just the thing that ignites your life.

Often your 10,000 hours make your work sing. But with mastery you need to stay green.

“In the beginner’s mind, there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s there are few.” — Zen monk Shunryu Suzuki

We hone our skills the more work we do. We achieve flow. We get glory but we forget fresh eyes on old stories.

Work hard but stay hungry. Make no assumptions, resist judgement and ask for help.

And don’t quit.

( I love that this applies to business and the creative process, but also to all relationships too, as all good rules do)
