feisty angels in our midst part 2

I walked into a first class yesterday of 17 kids  at a local school really excited to do my recent favourite project.

It was sculpture. I often lead with sculpture.

The best way to mix clay is pull it apart and put it together with your hands.

Little beautiful creature with ants in pants jumps up and says pulling clay is hard for me because of my little hand.

She waves her little hand with a small palm and only tiny stubbs for fingers. And I remember several years ago when this same thing happened with another child.

I have a little friend with a hand just like yours and she showed me what to do. I showed her how Clare taught me to pull clay with her tiny hand.

I told her Clare so loved working with clay that she pushed her hand print into the clay to leave her mark.

My new little friend did just the same. And then said, I want to meet Clare!

Her mom reads this blog. I hope she will let me set up this meet.

  1. Claire would love to meet a new friend with the same adorable little hand! Feel free to pass on their contact info if you have it or am happy to supply you with ours. Your fans, Sue and Claire
p.s. I was just telling Laura the other day that I recently watched the movie Wild and the mother played my Laura Dern so reminded me of you. While i think there is a physical similarity, so much of it was the huge, positive spirit she possessed 🙂

    • Sue- I am so glad you are game. And Claire too (sorry for the sp). I will connect.
I have gotten LD lately and when I watched the movie I saw that single mother spirit of ‘don’t tell me my life is not great’ that I think we must have. I feel far more fortunate than that character though, thankfully.
Sending xox to you and Claire. I will set up the meet!
