working hands

I remember reading once about a woman who said she loved to look down at her own hands and see the beautiful manicure, that it made her feel that everything was right in the world, even if it was not.

I love to look down at my hands and see the paint and the glue and the dye. I like to think about where they have been all day and what they have done. I love to feel useful and that I have been involved in something creative.

  1. Your hands tell the story of your life. Do you want to have beautiful soft hands like the Queen ( who never did a hard day’s work in her life) or do you want your hands to speak of your character? My arthritic knucklejoint tells me and others of the importance of sewing and creativity in my life. I’ve derived such great pleasure in blessing others with the fruit of my hands in the way of quilts, sweaters and other home made gifts of love.
