no stones left unturned

If you could ask any question of your dad what would it be?

This is the way I present one of my favourite projects to a classroom.

fishing with dad

I ask the children to work through these mixed media projects with me and imagine what else they could ask their dads to find out more about them.
We think we know someone and all there is to know about them. We also think we have all the time in the world with people. That is not always the case.
Yesterday over 500 kids gave their dads artwork they did with me for Father’s Day. Some of them will remember to interview their dads with questions never before asked.
This project is particularly poignant for me this year, as my dad is now really gone.
I know with certainty that I drove him crazy  made him feel alive, with questions and chats, to the point that when I wonder what he would say or do, I am clear.
I can go to him for advice in my head.
I also know he was fully aware that I loved him.
That helps.

(there is one question I want to ask him and it is a strange one- see next post)
