the width of it

” I don’t want to get to the end of my life and find that I lived just the length of it. I want to have lived the width of it as well”

Not sure who said this but I like them already. Life is full and thick with a density of surprises. Sometimes it stinks, sometimes it glistens like a jewel. Mostly it is a mixed bag.

Tomorrow is a start if you let it be that. A blank slate, a canvas devoid  of paint, a blanket of snow with no footsteps. It is waiting for us-wondering what we will do with it, how we will make it our own.

Happy New Year. May you know the width of it.

days are long, life is short

“something happened to me on the way to the future”

I just watched something I really liked as a kick off to the new year which is fast approaching. Perhaps many of you know about The Happiness Project and Gretchen Rubin- but she actually has some very good advice on getting there with your goals and resolutions and living happier.  I get in trouble from time to time for being a bit too happy in the face of , well, you know, real life. But the other option consistently freaks me out.

Take a minute and watch this video entitled The days are long, but life is short.
