small is good

A small town in Ontario can be the end of the earth or a beautiful thing.There are a few things a small town has to have to be wonderful.

An adorable main street with a church at the front of it celebrating life

A really good bookstore with a wrap around verandah

great coffee shops for gathering

pretty public places with fountains and flowers and statues

 

 

 

 

 

People with a sense of style(note the mosaic detail on the door of this gallery)

 

 

 

 

 

and a sense of humour

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Stores who write signs in fat black markers because head office won’t know and won’t scold them

forgetting to take time to show love

jumping to conclusions

losing perspective, losing your mind, losing sleep

The pace can’t keep up forever. That is why they invented long weekends.

My nephews keep showing me another way of life  and the real difference between raising boys and raising girls and I love them crazy  for it. Click here for a laugh.

eye can’t handle it

A friend mentioned recently that her eye twitched uncontrollably throughout her entire renovation. The day she wrote her last cheque and they were gone so was the twitch. I asked her if she told me this because she could see mine twitching. She could not see it, but to me it is as big as a pulsing heart throbbing on my eye lid for the last month.

I had no idea that the eye twitch always accompanies a renovation. Apparently it is an added bonus along with behind schedule,above quote, big dusty mess and a different man in your house every time you get out of the shower.

Ok not all of it is horrible.
